New Athletic Director

Weston Family

Dear Master’s Academy families,

We are pleased to announce Don Weston as the new Athletic Director. Don’s extensive background in coaching and Christian education will serve the school well as Master’s Academy continues to build its athletic program and educate student athletes to impact their world for Christ. Don and his family have been residents of Vero Beach for three years where he has served as Director of Christian Education at Grace Lutheran Church. He served this year as an assistant coach to the Master’s Academy middle school boys’ basketball team, coaching them to the district finals.

Don’s previous experience includes boys’ basketball coach for two years at Arizona Lutheran Academy while attending Phoenix College on a track scholarship. After completing his degree at Martin Luther College he worked at Zion Lutheran School as principal, athletic director, middle school teacher, and coach for football, basketball, and track.

In 2005 Don and his wife accepted a two-year missionary opportunity to work at a school in Plzen, Czech Republic teaching English and religion. Don successfully began a sports club at the school.

His responsibilities at Master’s Academy will include coaching the new high school boys’ basketball team, overseeing all grammar, middle school and varsity athletic programs and teaching physical education classes to students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

We are so appreciative of Brooks Greenway and the hard work and dedication he has given the school over the past four years.  Brooks accomplished great things as the Athletic Director over that time and we wish him the best on his future endeavors.

We are looking forward to a great year of athletics in the 2010-2011 school year.

Go Patriots!

A Note From Dr. Powell

Dr. Powell  Recent Recall Ruckus

The media has barraged the air waves with the recent Toyota recall fiasco.  First, it was sticking accelerators, then faulty brakes.  Toyota’s management initially waffled, but outside pressures forced Toyota, the world’s number one auto manufacturer to take responsibility for recalling all cars.  Product recall is nothing new, nor something to be shunned.
