Uniquely Classical - Distinctly Different The Principle Approach®
What makes Master's Academy so different from other Christian schools? Its distinctive mission! Master's Academy employs the Principle Approach®, America's historic, classical Christian method of education, to prepare young people to be servants, scholars, stewards and statesmen in our constitutional federal republic. This requires developing a biblical worldview as well as excellence in character, skills, and talents. The Principle Approach® is very intentional in its purpose: equipping young men and women to help restore America to her gospel purpose, thereby helping to fulfill Christ's Great Commission.
The Approach is America's historic Christian method of Biblical reasoning, which makes the truths of God's Word the basis of every subject in the school curriculum. The emphasis of this approach is to put our learning into a framework of principles and leading ideas and then relate these facts in the subject. A foundation is laid in the curriculum for all subjects and is subsequently built upon year after year. In this approach, an emphasis is put on higher order thinking skills, organizational and study skills, research from original source documents, and formal writing assignments, documented through the notebook methodology.
It is essential for us as Christians to set the Word of God and its principles as the plumb line and cornerstone of all education and knowledge in order to be free from evolutionary, progressive, or secular humanistic thinking. The Principle Approach is distinguished from other approaches to education in the following ways:
" It places Christ at the center of every subject and the Word of God as the final authority in all things. " It is designed to develop Christian scholarship through researching a subject on the basis of its Biblical principles and reasoning to relate the subject to the students' life and service to God.
" Every subject, therefore, is taught from its Biblical, as well as the academic, principle. Students are taught to reason from these principles and to relate truth to every area of life.
" It recognizes that the home is primarily for the development of a Christian conscience and that school is responsible for building on its foundation.
" It produces teachers and students with the skill and character to research, reason, and write, and thereby to be characterized as producers rather than consumers.
" It is designed to produce students with the Christian character necessary to practice individual Christian self-government and Christian civil government.
" It teaches Providential History, identifying Americas Gospel purpose, which is the establishment of a Christian Republic, so that the Gospel may be propagated throughout the world.
" It emphasizes the effect of the Word of God and earns individuals responsibility, which produce individual Christian (spiritual) Liberty and its resulting influence on civil liberty.
" It teaches a Biblical view of God, man, and government, and the sacredness of property, both internal and external (conscience being the most sacred). Jesus said, "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free".
