Words from Dr. Smith

Dr. SMith.jpg

When I was in college, my mother sent me a card that read; “Nothing will happen to you today that you and God cannot handle together.” While that sounds very much like a cliché, I have been reminded of that truth many times through the years.

An old Sunday school song says:

How big is God, how big and wide his vast domain

To begin to tell these lips can only start

He's big enough to rule the mighty universe

Yet small enough to live within my heart.

We often find it easier to believe in an awesome God who is in control of this amazing, vast universe than to be mindful that this same amazing God, who is our loving and ever-present Savior, is actually interested in our lives.

You and I are a piece of the tapestry of God’s redemptive plan that He is weaving across history and across this world. We may just be a thread, but that ‘thread’ is precious to God and has a vital role to play in His-Story.

So how big is your God? Is He able to lift you up, sustain you, and deliver you from wherever you find yourself?
